A century of baking, passed down through generation
For now 100 years, Mikes Bakery has been part of everyday life on Leros. Founded in 1926 by great-grandfather Mikes, the craft of baking has been passed down through generations, built on tradition, care, and exceptional quality. The business moved from grandfather Nikos to father Mikes, and today to his son Nikos. Despite the growth, the heart of the bakery remains the same with father Mikes still baking every day, proud of every loaf that comes out of the oven. From traditional rusks and aromatic cookies to their well-known breads, every product reflects this long-standing dedication to authentic taste.
For now, the template simply shows where that storytelling will live.
Growing with the island, rooted in tradition
As Leros has welcomed more visitors over the years, the bakery has evolved too, adapting its products to the tastes of both locals and sailors, while staying true to its roots. And when time allows – which is rare – both Nikos and his father Mikes love to head out to sea, a passion that runs in the family just as much as baking.
